In modern industrial production, the transportation and pressurization of gases are indispensable especially for central conveying systems. Roots blower has become an important device for the plastics industry due to its excellent performance and reliability.
What Are Roots Blowers?
A roots blower is a type of pump used in various systems. The blower consists of a muffler, filter drum, vacuum safety valve, blower, motor, and other components, which can be used as a vacuum pump for suction. The rotors are fixed on a set of synchronous gears, and during rotation, only a small gap of about ten tenths of a millimeter is maintained between the rotors and between the cylinder and the rotors, preventing them from contacting each other. Therefore, no oil lubrication is required and the transported air will not be contaminated. At the same time, as there is no friction between the two rotors, they can operate at high speeds and obtain a larger torque.
The Roots engine is well constructed, with only bearings and wheels requiring lubrication inside the body. Choosing appropriate lubricating oil during refueling time and intervals for maintenance can minimize the wear of bearings and wheels, thereby increasing the service life of the machine.
Applications:
Plastics processing:
Roots blowers are often integrated to the automation system for central conveying and raw material handling.
Wastewater treatment:
Roots blowers are commonly used in aeration systems to promote the biodegradation and oxidation of wastewater by injecting gas into the aeration tank.
Pharmaceutical industry:
Used to provide stable airflow for drying, mixing, and conveying materials such as powders and particles.
Chemical industry:
Can be used for gas supply or vacuuming, for processes such as distillation, drying, cooling, and gas transportation.
Printing industry:
Used to provide stable airflow to help dry printed materials.
Paper industry:
Used to provide stable airflow and assist in processes such as drying and curling of paper.
